The place is good, and the veterinarians are as well; however, today I called to schedule an appointment for my cats, and the woman who answered the phone is simply unfit for the job. When she picked up, I tried to book the appointment, but she behaved in a rude and completely unprofessional manner. I persisted and kept calling—since she chose not to answer the line—until someone else finally picked up—someone who was genuinely professional and polite—and I was able to successfully schedule the appointment.

Rio Grande animal hospital went above and beyond for our sweet old dog. They were SO helpful when she needed to have 4 teeth pulled, and we were just so worried about her due to her age. They put us at ease with urinalysis, blood work, and later on with an EKG the morning of the procedure. Our girl was out of surgery within a few hours after dropping her off, and they checked in on us multiple times during the ordeal which helped us greatly with our fears. The team really loves animals there, and it isn't just a clinic. They are folks who love the pets as they would love their own, and someone you can really trust your babies in the hands of. Coming from a "helicopter" dog mom, that's saying alot. We had a horrible experience at another local vet at a different spot who had put our dog on serious heart medicine she didn't need to be on, and Rio Grande Animal Hospital quite literally saved her life. Forever indebted to y'all. If you need a good vet that doesn't have that robotic vibe where your best friend is just a number, and you want a place with down to earth people who are clearly there to help your pets....this is the place for you.
