I would recommend any prospective clients look into the many fear-free vet offices in the Albuquerque area instead of this office. The next vet to whom I took my dog remarked that my dog appeared to have PTSD from how he was handled at La Cueva Animal Hospital. I deeply regret bringing my dog here.

I cannot say enough amazing things about La Cueva Animal Hospital and their incredible team. What started as a routine visit turned into something really scary when my golden retriever had a severe anaphylactic reaction after a heartworm prevention injection. Even though it was the very last appointment of the day and the office was closing, the care we received from Dr. Cimbal and the vet tech Jen was nothing short of exceptional. They acted quickly, stayed calm, and gave my dog their full attention in a truly critical moment. Jen and the rest of the staff went above and beyond by calling the emergency vet ahead of time to prepare them for our arrival. What meant the most to me, though, was that Jen didn’t stop there—she actually met me at the emergency vet to make sure I was okay and even helped me manage my other dog during such a stressful situation. That level of compassion is something you just don’t see every day. Even after leaving the clinic, Dr. Cimbal stayed involved and in constant communication with Jen to ensure everything was handled seamlessly. It was clear that they genuinely cared—not just about my dog, but about me as well. On top of that, they took the extra step to contact the medication representatives for the injection to ensure my dog’s reaction was properly reported and to advocate for reimbursement for her emergency ICU stay. That level of advocacy meant so much to me during such a difficult time. I am so incredibly grateful for their kindness, professionalism, and dedication. They turned a terrifying experience into one where I felt supported every step of the way. I trust them completely and will always bring my dogs here. Highly, highly recommend.

We are very impressed with La Cueva. We have five dogs. We are preparing to retire in Portugal. They all have been great helping us to get all five of our dogs prepared for the move. Our dogs have some chronic conditions; such as thyroid, incontinence, mass cell, they also discovered a detaching lense. We just discovered that one dog has a tooth that is shearing and we will be returning for dental. We have a blended pack that demonstrate behavior issues, such as a 60 lb jumper, a 17 pound snapper, and a 13 pound wiggler who only wants his mom. They have been excellent with accommodating five appointments at the same time, which we know takes a great team. Dr C and staff are amazing. Our daughter moved to Europe, also moving 3 dogs and referred us to Dr. C.

If you need a USDA-accredited veterinarian, look no further than La Cueva. Doctor Cimbal and her team are amazing. Professional, efficient and knowledgeable. We received perfect service and excellent advice. Our dogs and cats actually relaxed during the exam which does not typically happen.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
